Annus Mirablis 1685 Annus Mirablis 1685
A particularly fine recording, given by David Ponsord, of music by Sandoni, Handel, Scarlatti and J.S. Bach. David performs on an Andrew Garlick harpsichord (1993) after Jean-Claude Goujon (c.1749), and the sound is wonderful! We are very pleased to include this CD on our recommended list. Look out for our recording of 'Parthenia', performed by David, and due for release in 2004.

Resonances
Pianist Steven Wray performs music of Beethoven, Suk, Schoenberg, Pokorny, and Brahms. The CD reflects a fondness for the culture of two historically significant cities of central Europe in which he has lived, studied and performed - namely, Vienna and Prague. This is a very enjoyable recording; of particular note are the Brahms Variations, which we enjoyed very much indeed.

Symphony No. 1 Symphony No. 1
David Golightly has been described as the 'Englishman with the Russian Soul'. We recommend a listen to his first symphony which has definite overtones of Shostakovich. - 'It could well be that Golightly will come to be regarded as an English Shostakovich' - Arthur Butterworth
